Who among us tosses the box/paperwork on a legit several hundred dollar piece of equipment? So if it's "used", insist on seeing all of the included case candy, and also check the serial (more below on that). Obviously, if there is NO documentation, that's a red flag. You'd think you can spot it by fit/finish, or included documentation, or packaging - but you'd be wrong. Maybe that's further evidence that Trijicon has been woefully overcharging us for years - who knows, that's an argument for a different time. They're ridiculously perfect in attention to detail, and (NOT that I'm advocating buying fakes), the more recent versions actually perform very well.
